Algebra test and answers – will be here later today

The June 2010 Integrated Algebra Regents started today at 1:15.
The exam and the answers will be posted here sometime after 8PM around midnight. You might want to check in the morning.
(Teachers get stressed differently than kids do, but we still get stressed. I just came in after an almost 4 hour walk. Rough week. I’ll get over it, but posting the algebra got delayed.)

Yeah, I’m pretty sure I got everything right except for one. I was unsure about the perpendicular bisector construction multiple choice.
Oops. Sorry. I was mostly grading the open-ended. I really didn’t see the multiple choice, except the answer key.
I found the regents to be a bit more difficult than anticipated. 1/2 of the questions were repeats, while the other half were complete curve balls. I froze up on a question about Cartesian Coordinate System quadrants. However, I think I got in the upper 90s. (8th grade honors Integrated Algebra)
P.S. Here is a link to the conversion chart via jmap.org. Some of you may be disappointed in the fact that they skipped 99. 1 multiple choice wrong = 97. :(

Around what time will the answers be posted? My Sabbath commences at 8:10 P.M., thus I would really appreciate if they were released prior to then. Regardless, thank you.

What is the minimum for a regents with distinction???
The minimum for distinction on a regents is 85. For this specific exam, a raw score of 78/87 was required. Good luck! :)

I bet you’ll do great. I don’t mind if i do well or not, as long as my score is counted as a regents with Distinction. (well for me is over a 95) I have really high standards and Really bad nerves!!!

I got the quadrants wrong and one part of the histogram wrong. I’m pretty sure I aced the rest, though. That underlying doubt just drives me nuts! Especially since they curved down for the low to mid 80s. :/

i really got confused for the cumulative frequency median interval. i got 81-90 … because it asked mean so i crossed stuff out & yeahh…
I thought the frequency was easy. The mtpl choice was kinda hard i thought.
did any of you guys find trouble in doing the histogram? that part of the test kind of confused me too, other than that i think i did pretty good. but the questions about the intervals & whatnot threw me off :/
m.c. for question 30 asked PROFIT. and i got 6,600 as profit from 15,000 … does that make sense?!
does neone no if we got points off if we only wrote one point for the solution set ??

Anyone know when we will get the scores for the Regents?
We’ll get our scores when our teachers decide. My algebra teacher is spending all day Monday marking. She said we’ll get them back either Monday 8th period or Tuesday. You may get it back sooner or later.

ohh cuz idr getting 37, i feel like i put 40 or something idk i remember rounding. i was taught u could do it either way so i was gonna check it with trig but i forgot :/ hope i got the right answer
anyone know how the curve works for this regents?? like if we score above a 90, do we still receive extra points
you might get a point or two for lower 90s, and you cant get a 99 this year they curve down.

And that’s what I remember off the bat.
I technically should’ve gotten a 97, but I got 1 M.C. wrong (2 pts) and 1 pt off a 4 pt question (1 pt). STUPID MISTAKES! :(
can someone explain the conversion chart to me??
It basically gives free points to people who get bad grades so that they can pass. If you got above a 90 it might give you a point or two but if you get a 35 it boosts you to a 65. Very unfair considering they curved down this year in the high 90s.

it was worth 4 and i think you might get 2\4 or 3\4 if you did everything else right

like you showed work and got the answer wrong, or you made a chart and you didnt write the answer
yeah, i think if you still showed work but got a wrong answer you can receive half a point, if it were on a 1 pt. question. like the last section in part 4, there was 4 1 pt. questions. im not sure about the chart tho, you shud def get some credit tho if you drew one
I think that test was way easier than all of the previous regents. The only curveball for me was number 30, the one about intrest. I got 1 but everyone in my class said they put 4.

yeah they all put 21600 but the wording said that was the equation for the value of the investment and it asked for the profit so i subtracted
