When we went to Mexico City (Part 3 – Teotihuacan)

August 12, 2026 am31 9:22 am

Mommy found a private guide (small group). He was great. Turned out to have studied ethnomusicology – two advanced degrees – but taking tourists to the pyramids paid bills… I think she tipped him excessively… which was a thing she did.

My mother had something going on with her toe – thus the cane. I know another day it got worse, and we went to a pharmacy where she used her limited/deliberate Spanish that she had worked so hard on, and was able to get the medicine she wanted. She lost it completely (the Spanish) after the stroke just over two years later.

This is a photo dump. I have 120 photos, and I’ll filter out only the truly bad ones. I’ll put a bunch of the site first. Then you’ll get about 20 of me or her, or both of us. And end with a few dozen of flowers. You don’t have to look at the flowers – I do – they were part of the day, that very special day.

This was my longest adult trip with my mom, Sandy Rosen. She died July 15, 2026, on the 11th anniversary of the start of the Mexico City trip. If you want to see what came before Teotihuacan, here’s Part 1, and here’s Part 2. After this, I’ll wrap up the trip with a Part 4 (no link, since it’s not written yet)

No further commentary now, just photos from July 20, 2015 (Saturday):
