All Good Things – Mexico City (Part 4 – the end)

Teotihuacan was the high point of the trip, when my mother and me went to Mexico City in 2015. The next day we did go to the Jardín Botánico del Bosque de Chapultepec, and the amazing Museo Nacional de Antropología. But that was it. We flew out Monday morning, July 22, 2015. Mommy went home to Cambridge – I flew to Steven’s – and he took a group of us to the Bahamas… Mommy was so happy with the trip… but there was so much more she wanted to do. I helped find her a Road Scholar tour that she took the next year – Oaxaca and Puebla and maybe one more place. But this was the only big trip we took together after her retirement and before her stroke (two years laster).

But there we go. A really great trip. I went because my mother really wanted to go, this was not my idea, or fully my choice. And that made it even better – a wonderful time against my will! But it is so important today, one month to the day since she died (7/15/26), to have this week to look back on. I just wish I could check the details with her…

This was my longest adult trip with my mom, Sandy Rosen. She died July 15, 2026, on the 11th anniversary of the start of the trip. And today marks one month that she has been gone.
