Eximius not closing, not yet

Update: the rumor, disappointingly, turned out to be untrue.
A rumor has reached me that Eximius College Prep, one of the worst of the “Do Not Apply” schools in the Bronx, will be partially closed at the end of the school year.
It would be a good thing, if true. However it may be wishful thinking.
My source said letters went out saying to 6th and 7th graders, saying the middle school portion would close June 26. Maybe:
- the letter said June 26 was the last day in the school year?
- the letter said that given the poor grades there was a danger of the middle school closing (unspecified date in the future)?
- the letter said the 8th graders were leaving the middle school? (true)
Folks, if you have information, especially verifiable information, please share.
(for more background, read “Insightful Reflection on Eximius” by someone who was scarred by the place.)

JD,
The ironic part of this news is the fact that the middle school was supposed to be the last “hope for the future” for Eximius. The only positive good things I heard while I was there always seemed to pertain to the middle schoolers. If the middle school is closing (potentially), can the HS be far behind?
Update – not true, not yet, too bad.
COULD IT REALLY BE TRUE! HAVE MY PRAYERS BEEN ANSWERED? DARE I DREAM?
CAN I ASK EVERYONE HERE A QUESTION? WHY IS IT THAT NO ONE STANDS UP TO THE PRINICIPAL SMITH AND HER ADMINISTRATION? I HAVE READ AND READ THE COUNTLESS STORIES HERE BY TEACHERS AND STUDENTS AND SOME PARENTS. THIS IS ALL DISTURBING, WE KNOW THAT BUT I DON’T EVER HEAR OF ANYONE MAYBE OTHER THAN ME CALLING THE STATE ED DEPT ON THE SCHOOL.
I KNOW SOME PEOPLE WHO CAN PROBABLY ANSWER THE CLOSURE QUESTION. I WILL GET BACK TO YOU SOON.
NO NOT YET
the middle school is indeed being phased out as of this year. there will be no new incoming 6th grade class for the 09-10 year and the remaining grades will move through the mess that is this school then eventually leave. what bothers me to no end is that the DOE would rather kill the academic hopes of 200+ children and their families for the sake of saving the academic and professional wellbeing of one person when in reality it should be the other way around. it is wrong on so many levels that tammy smith remains employed when it is clear to so many people that she is doing so much more harm than good.
