Earth Hour

Nice sentiment. This is the Bronx. It wasn’t quiet.

We had a cold blast, so I opened the windows wide to feel the cold air. It also let all the traffic noise in. The long-dry stream bed under me, with moderately steep banks, creates some wonderful acoustics. I hear everything.

I took photos of the traffic and street lights and buildings across the way. I will repeat the photos next Saturday, and post the comparison. I am afraid that there won’t be much difference… We will see.

(I can see a street-facing group of windows for each of 7 or 8 buildings close to me – about 40 – 100 apartments per building. They were pretty well lit up)
