Summer’s close; Vacation planning underway
May 30, 2010 am31 7:39 am
The long weekend –
and happy long weekend to all of you –
made me think about summer. And I turned and nailed down in one day a big chunk of plans: Vancouver, Seattle, wild Utah.
Still trying to decide (if it’s not already too late) whether to go volunteer for the AFT in the south again. Last year was East Texas, year before that was New Orleans.
Last year’s fantasy non-trip? That will have to wait for another year.

How about teaching our union leadership how to better represent the members. So far they are doing a terrible job, be it secret negotiations, lack of democratic procedures, failure to go after PINI principals by going to PERB, and indifference to the classroom teacher.
I need a summer vacation. We all deserve one.
Did you ever find The Rubber Room (L&O)? Try http://www.casttv.com/shows/law-order/rubber-room/d21upf
Thank you.
The rubber room references start at 27 minutes. To me (not in NYC) they do a credible job explaining how the teachers are being screwed.
What do you think?
