Too late to make summer plans?

No. But getting there. Europe is not in the cards (first time in a few years).
I’ll sort out some choices today. Work in NYC, hang out in NYC? That could be, but it would be nice to do something more…

Atlantic Canada is not all that far, and fairly inexpensive. Halifax and St. John’s are both awesome cities, Kejimkujik has some of the awesomest hiking around, and there’s plenty of rural sights around too of course. ;)
(I had to try.)
Air fares are out of control. I’m going to Israel and we were hit with a $400 per peson fuel surcharge. This charge can possibly go up, depending on price of oil at the moment.
I am indecisive, and have internet. Which means every suggestion sends me googling. I found brief (4 – 6 day) hiking tours in Atlantic Canada that look gorgeous, and compared to my usual budget travel are outrageously expensive!
I will compile some realistic and unrealistic possibilities this evening, after a walk…
Stay in the hemisphere. No jet lag. No Euro-dollar exchange. Flights are still expensive, but that’s true no matter where you go.
