Class wiki?

If I want to create a wiki for a class (I work in a school within the NYC Department of Education), what wiki do I use? Do I chose? Any experience to share? The first google hit is wikidot. I’m sure that’s how most of my students would choose, but…
Free Wiki?

I’d use wikispaces. I can’t wait to hear about it.
More information about wikis than you could ever want to know:

You said it! That’s overwhelming. What should I be looking for in making a choice?
There’s a selection wizard button near the top. I’d start with that.
I use pbwiki. it’s not fancy but it does everything I need it to. I have no comparison though.
“Free” does not always mean “cheap” ;-)
Wikidot is one of the most stable wikis – after my problems with PbWiki it is just fantastic. The interface is not too perfect, but you get a free wiki without any ads. And it looks like they are spending quite a lot of many on backups etc. I only wish they has premium support or so, but the list of features is fine for me.
Anyway, they have beautifil LaTeX-style equations with references :-D
