Oaxaca

There is a teachers’ strike that has some of the aspects of open rebellion taking place in Oaxaca, Mexico.

I am creating a Oaxaca links page [link deleted August 6, 2006] with links to news and blogs (need to find some background pieces), and will update the links at least daily while the crisis continues.

    Sad to see no links about Oaxaca and it’s daily happenings with the teacher strike! I google it everyday and read as many articles on it as I can and keep in contact with a few of my friends from Oaxaca. The children there are amazing I’ve working for two years now for a month in the summer with children in an orphanage and always get to see the teacher strike..and well this year I guess i got to just see the first week of it when it was still peaceful!!

    if you have links, please share them. I would be happy to start a links page with regular updates again.

    in the meantime, the angry white kid link on the right (under The Wide World Heading) has some coverage
